Welcome to the 28th GAZE International LGBTQ+ Film Festival.

I have sat down many times to write my intro, and somehow the words
have been harder to find this year. I’ve been trying to avoid the ... what
a year … in these strange times … who could have imagined … type of
comments, however it would be remiss of me not to start with a quick
reflection on this extraordinary year that continues to shake us all to
       the core.

At our Board meeting in March, one of our Directors kicked off
the discussion by saying ‘’look, we’re going to have to get very
comfortable, very quickly, with making uncertain decisions with
incomplete information’’ so the Board and Staff team settled in for the
ride. Multiple Whatsapps, hard discussions and challenging financial
questions later, we are beyond thrilled to welcome you to the 28th
GAZE International LGBTQ+ Film Festival. We can’t wait to get
together again, virtually and a little bit literally, to celebrate the power
of our stories. We hope you’ll be inspired, enraged, encouraged, that
you’ll laugh and most importantly feel connected. We are immensely
proud of our team, Anna Taylor and Seán McGovern, who despite all
uncertain odds, have delivered a beautiful, topical and compelling
       festival of films and events.
